Description

Faceted rhodochrosite – 19.23 carats
N’Chwaning Mines, Kuruman, South Africa

An exceptional 19.23-carat faceted rhodochrosite, of truly remarkable dimensions for this mineral species. Faceted rhodochrosites of this quality exceeding a few carats remain rare, one reaching nearly twenty carats is truly exceptional.

The stone comes from the legendary N’Chwaning Mines, in the heart of the famous Kalahari manganese field in South Africa. This historic deposit has yielded some of the finest specimens of rhodochrosite in the world and remains the gold standard for crystals with a vivid raspberry-red colour, a chromatic signature that has become iconic for this locality.

This collector’s gem features an intense, rich red hue, typical of the finest N’Chwaning stones. The faceting is precise and well-balanced, combined with an excellent polish, which fully showcases the stone’s brilliance and depth of colour.
